The Minstrel:
"The Singing Wonder"


Introduction:
-Hi, I am back with my CCs^^. This is an imrpoved verson of my Minstrel.
The Minstrel is a De/Buffing Fighter, They Don't Buff themselves but their allies around them and they also De-buff foes round them.


The Contents:
  • The Background, Tells it's purpose in the GW Lore.
  • The Status, Tells what is it's Status and General Data.
  • The Attributes, Abilites or Skills which diffines this Class from the others.
  • The Strength, Tells which does this Class' Abilities are good at to.
  • The Weakness, Tells which does this Class' Abilities are burdened to.
Background:
Quote:
-The Minstrel is a musician who can bring great chaos to their foes. They may also cause great joy to their allies and boost them up as if they just started the battle. It has been already a tradition in Midgard to have a Minstrel in their troops to fight wars. They have been called the "Singing Wonder" for they have no magic at all but can cause something stronger than magic.
Uniqueness:
  • The Songs, Dances and Plays, A new playstyle of fighting, It manipulates adjacent allies' and foes' way of fighting. They may be weakened or buffed but all goes to same avoid the minstrels or stay close to you're allied minstrels. But these abilities of sheer talent can slowen it's user by a 50%.
  • Musical Instruments, These instruments can cause chaotic damage to adjacent foes. The range of attack is adjacent enough to combine you're Songs, Dances and Plays with it. Or a new type of farming.

Status:
-Maximum Health 480.
-Maximum Energy 30.
-3 pipes of energy.


Armour:

Headgear
-Hat

-Starter Armor: AL 15
-Low: Al 30-40
-Medium: AL 50-60
-Maximum: AL 70

-Bonus Armor +5 (While 1 or more creatures are affected by your Art Skills)
Armor +5 (While 2 or more creatures are affected by your Art Skills)
Armor +5 (While 3 or more creatures are affected by your Art Skills)

-Bonus Armor +10 (While Casting)


Weapon:
-The Minstrel is a fighter who uses Musical Instruments to fight in battle.
The Range is Adjacent to the Foe, and it can strike all adjacent foes.

Showmanship(Primary)
-For each rank of Showmanship, You move 3.33% faster when casting Plays, Songs or Dances, Also you'r Affection Range increases by 2.5%.
-(If Paragon is Replaced)For each 2 ranks of Showmanship, You gain 1 energy for each affected creature through you'r Art Skills(can't be affect through a same foe), Also you'r Affection Range increases by 2.5%.

Artsmanship
-Specializes in Dealing with Musical Instruments.

Melodious Arts
-Specializes in Buffing Foes.

Discordant Arts
-Specializes in De-Buffing Allies.

-Instrument Attack, 15e|25r : Deal +12-28(30) Damage to Target Foe, If that Foe is under effects of a Chant, Shout, Echo, Dance, Play or Song that foe is stripped from all of it. Adjacent Allies gain these effects instead (Same Ally can't gain 2 or more effects from this skill).

-Dance, 10e|3c|25r : While Casting, Adjacent Other Allies gain 15% chance to Critical and 25% chance to Block Attacks. This Dance's casting time increases by 1-10(12) seconds.

Laughing Child
"A Child's Laughter smacks a Punch of Joy.."
-Song, 10e|1c|50r : While Casting, Nearby Other Allies gains 1-15% Temporary Morale Boost. This Song's Casting Time increases by 1-12(14) seconds.

Discordant Art

Funeral's Music[Elite]
"The Dead shall mourn for the Living.."
-Song, 15e|3c|30r : While Casting, Nearby Foes move 33% slower and have 50% Chance to miss. This Song's Casting Time increases by 1-7(9) seconds.

Sound of Defeat
"You'r End can be Heard, It is Predictable, and Accurate.."
-Play, 15e|1c|15r : While Casting, Foes within you'r Area gains 15% Death Penalty. This Play's Casting Time increases by 1-11(12) seconds.

Dazzling Grace
"My Charm shall Dazzle all.."
-Dance, 10e|1c|30r : While Casting, Adjacent Foes are Easily Interupted. This Dance's Casting Time increases by 1-3(4) seconds.


Functions:
-Showmanship is for Strengthening You'r Plays.
-Play Mastery is your Weapon Mastery.
-Melodious Play Is your Buff.
-Discordant Play Is your De-Buff.

Musical Instruments:
-M. Instruments are used for Plays and to Strike Adjacent Foes.
It's Attack Speed is same of a Sword and Effective as a Schyte, But weak as a Dagger(w/o Skills).

I. Art Skills:
-Art Skills are Skill type which effects alot of Foes and Allies, It's stronger than Shouts and Stance but it can slowen it's user by 50% but with the help of Showmanship this can be cured also with 16 Showmanship you can move normally with 12 Showmanship you move 10% slower only^^.
Their three types of Art Skills, Dance, Plays and Songs.
  • II. Dance System:
    -Dances have the Shortest Range(Adjacent) from all other Art Skills cause it is the Deadliest cause some Minstrels can charm foes while fighting also they can mix the effects of Dances and Fighting same time making things deadly.
  • II. Play System:
    -The Play have the Farthest Affection Range(In the Area) from all other Art Skills. But Plays recommend you to equip a M. Instrument. Plays can give the Strongest Effects too.
  • II. Song System:
    -The Song has the most Ballanced Affection Range(Nearby) from all other Art Skills. It's skills too are ballanced.

Strengths:
-You are able to Buff Allies.
-You are able to De-buff Foes.
-You are able to Strike Adjacent Foes.

Weaknesses:
-Move 50% Slower while casting Art Skills.
-Weak Damage

It looks good, very even, interesting to play, and quite balanced too.

IM(I)O 1 problem could be that:
While it isn't that hard to get foes adjacent too you, especially if you are slowed; squeezing the maximum effect out of songs plays and dances, before they go into their sizable recharge, requires allies to be adjacent too you. Having to huggle each other like that is kind of cute, but also a major disadvantage against ele's or disease using foes.

My minions already tend to deplete monk the monks energy by running back after a fight while diseased, infecting eachother folowed by hugging me and any allies that are near me.
Repeatedly as they don't stay still and re-infect people the monk has cured.
I think they managed to kill 2 people on separate occasions that way by now.
And that is out of combat, having that happen in combat would be a death total equal to the black plague

so you might want to do something like:
Dance: affects adjacent(you dance with them)
Play: affects nearby things, they need to clearly see and hear you.
Song: affects things in the area, your singing which is not as loud as shouting, so less range.

Also you can only sing 1 song at a time and dance 1 dance at a time etc.
But can you dance play and sing at the same time?

Lastly, it seems squishy no defense skills nor heals. as hit has to get adjacent to foes wouldn't it die like all the time? (similar to sin henchies/noobs)

It's pretty good, though the picture doesn't look very 'heroic tale teller' more like a weekend event dress up.

The Minstrel, btw Bard is one class, i want really see in GW r GW2 in the end.
I want to have in the game an real unique kind of musician clas,s no wannabe angelic warrior clone,s that shout out their souls only and call their shouts "songs" -.-, btw the skills are name like music, where it isn't music in any way, nor does the dumb paragon use any music instrument to be called a "bard" or even the "gw version of a unique bard"

whoever says this s*** has no clues and should better hold the mouth to say the truth.

i see with one look, that your CC got very insprired by RO's Bard/minstrels, when I look at the example skill names...

I've to say, that your example picture is bad chosen..because this picture shows in no way anything, that looks like a bard or like a minstrel. Your picture shows a Harlequin, which is some sort of a very often shown as that "evil clown"

*I also would love to be able to play as a Harlequin in GW2, this type of proofession would offer somewhat of funny spectacular fight styles and awesome skills ^^, also it would be a unique way to introduce a dancer class into GW > Minstrels don't dance...minstrels SING and play music ^^"

I personally see in the Minstrel a profession, that uses different kinds of music instruments, to use them in different ways as weapons to be able to fight with them in different styles.

For example, being equipped with a Harp lets the Minstrel fight like an Archer, using the Harp like a Bow Weapon shooting Arrows. But also Violins and Guitars could be handled lke this, all String instruments could be used like bows..., with the exception, that Guitars also make very good Hammers rofl

Being equipped with 2 small Cellos would result more in a fight style that comes the Assasin very near, a quick fight style, The Cellos would be like 2 Chakrams, bould could also be used like a semi ranged weapon, throwing them away like frisbees

With a Flute, the Minstrel would have its Rod Weapon. And so on ...

The Attributes are nice, but I see the minstrel more with Attributes like this:

[Primary]Rhythm Rhythm increases the range of your Songs by 2% per Point. Song Effects are handled similar like Well Spells of the Necro, only that you need naturally no corpse. Also every 3 points in Rhythm, the Minstrel receives 5% of his own song's buffs, when playing and gets healed +1 Energy for every 3 seconds of playing a song. Each tiem when the Energy Points reach maximum while playing a Song, the Minstrel receives up to 300% of his maximum Energy as Hp heal. But playing a Song over long time makes the Minstrel tired. After 30 seconds of playing a same song, the Minstrel will suffer every second of play 1 Energy Point Exhaustion. Does the Exhaustion of the Minstrel kill all minstrels energy points,the minstrel iwll automatically stop playing and will suffer for 20 seconds on an Energy Degeneration of -4

Non Primary Minstrels play Harp, Guitars and Violins, only Primary minstrels can use absolute all instruments

Instrument Arts > The Multi kind Magical Instruments Weapon Attribute.
Means, this Attribute counts for all fight styles, such as fighting with a Harp, with a Flute or with Cellos or even with Drums, where the Drum Stick is like a Sword and the Drum or a big Cello is the Shield XD

Passion
Increases the strength, range, or general effects of these Songs.
Passion Songs result in damaging foes, which are in range to hear the song. These can affect singles targets up to all targets in range or even up to all foes on screen, regardless, where they stand.

Melodic Insight
This Attribute will hold skills, that will heal yourself or adjacent allies, in range of your song, or it will buff allies (enchant)/weaken enemies (hex)

Songs are handled like permant enchants/hexes, which are bond to all, which stand in range of the Minstrel's Song's Sound. Songs will decrease so long you play them the energy regeneration by -1, like monks perma enchants (i ask me, why mesmer/necros don't have perma hexes like such monks perma buff skills, which also cost -1 e reg ...)
This effects will alsi only be bond to characters i nrange of the song, as logn the minstrel naturally plays them. stops the minstrel playing a song, the buff/hex of that song will automatically end for all, which were effected by it.
While playing s Song, the minstrel can't use any other Skills, but can move and fight, but the Minstrel fights 50% slower, while playing a song and moves 66% slower.


So my Minstrel would have this sort of Skills:

Specialized Instrument* Skills > Skills for a certain Instrument only
Musician Skills > Skills, that are usable with all Instruments
Song Skills > Perma Buff/Hex Skills that affect all in the Range of the Song (Well Effect) + maximal +32% bigger size, when at rhythm 16

* This type of Minstrel skills can interact with Song Skills naturally


Skills Examples: (i dont write now what the skills should cost in matter of energy, how much CT and Rt they should have, just describe the effect


Rhythm

Blues Brothers[E]
Song Skill - E Reg -1 while playing

While playing this Song, You and your targeted Ally become bonded by this Song. Both of you will receive +50% HP of that Player from you both, which has the highest maximum HP and + 25% Energy also of that Player from you both, which has the highest max Energy. Both of you also receive +25% Armor of that character from you both, which has the highest points in Armor.
While being enchanted by this Song, both of you can#t receive buffs from any Shouts from Warriors or Paragons

Flow of Words
Enchant
For 60 seconds, your next 1-5 Songs will be casted+15-25% quicker

Voice of Purity
Musician Skill
Your next 1-5 Songs will also remove 1 Condition/Hex when starting to sing a Song and after ending a Song

Wish for Applause[E]
Musician Skill (Hex)
Forces foes to applause you, when you stop plaing a Song, This hex will interrupt adjacent foes, whenever you stop playing a song

Modern Talking *g*
Specialized Instrumetal Skill
Will increase Instrumental Arts by 2 for the next 30 seconds, when you are equipped with a String Instrument, iE. a Guitar...

Sound of Silence
Musician Skill (Hex)
When using this Skill, all adjacent foes become hexed with Sound of Silence, becoming unable to use any spells, as long being hexed with it.

Wonderful Rhythm
Enchant
While being enchanted with this, the Minstrel can't be interrupted. When beign hit with an Attack ,that would usually interrupt, the Minstrel loses 10-5 Energy or Wonderful Rhythm will end.

Orchestra[E]
Musician Skill (Enchant)
This skill enchants automatically all Minstrels in a party, when used.
When one Minstrel starts to play a Song, all other Minstrels will automatically play a randomous Song too, when equipped at least 1. The automatically used songs will cost for the affected minstrels no energy.
While playing in an Orchestra, the effects of the sung songs hava +15-30% stronger effects/strength and will affect autoamtically everything ever on screen.

Increase Volume
Musician Skill
Your next Song will have additional +20% range and will cost +10-5 more Energy, when casting.

Decrease Volume
Your next Song will have 20% lesser range, but the Song will cost 5-10 lesser Energy, when casting

Instrumental Arts

Fury Stroke[E]
Specialized Instrumental Skill
The Minstrel will shoot with its String Weapon 10 arrows after another vs. 1 Target. The arrows will do 50-30% lesser damage and each shot has a 25% chance to miss the target. When hitting, the Minstrel receives +1-2 Energy for each successful hit with this Skill.

Bursting Bash
Specialized Instrumental Skill
Attack 1 target with your Guitar. The hit will do + 20-35 additional damage and will cause the target to suffer for 3-5 seconds. When this attack gets blocked, all adjacent foes will get damaged also for 30 damage and burn for 3 seconds

Twilight Moon Twister[E]
Specialized Instrumental Skill
The Minstrel will throw its 2 Cellos away like Chakrams. This attack will hit all foes in a line for 2 unblockable hit. The first hit will do +15 additonal Holy Damage and blinds hexed foes. The second hit will do +15 additional Dark Damage and will poison hexed foes.
If this attack hits an enemies, which suffers on weakness, than the hits will throw that enemies to the ground.

Melody of the Rat Catcher
Specialized Instrumental Skill
When playing this Song, the Minstrel will summon for 30 seconds 3 level 5-15 Rats with the Skills "Poison Bite", "Plague Touch" and "Vampire Bite"

Wardrums of Balthazar[E]
Specialized Instrumental Skill
When using this Drum Skill, nearby Melee Classes will receive double Adrenaline with physical Hits and negative conditions on them will end 30-50% quicker

Lullaby Shot[E]
Specialized Instrumental Skill
This Shot will cause only 1-11 Damage, but the hitted target will receive 1,5 times of the done damage as Exhaustion.

Big Bang
SIS
The Minstrel will bang his Guitar on the ground, resulting in a Shockwave attack hitting all nearby foes with +10-20 lightning damage.
This attack has +25% Armor penetration and will deactivate all other Attack Skills for 10-5 seconds.

i'll add later some more example skills, when wanted, that here should show only , how i think, a Minstrel should work in GW(2)

I have a Deisgn in my head, But I can't post it cause I have no Scanner!
My Design looks more of a Fighter and with some Harlequin Look, I have a feeling there might ba an Anime with something like that in my head.
But I really would love to draw my design and post it^^.
But my type of Minstrel is more of a Harlequin Look but less, Evil Clown look.
And thanks for the Ideas^^!

I'd like to see this as a tag onto mesmer, since they're supposed to be performers as it is, yet they just seem to be another caster class.

I can see songs being a large part of inspiration//illusion//domination magic.

Perhaps they will hopefully make this change in GW2

I disagree with you^^, Mesmer are more of an Illusionist but it is shown that some Mesmer mostly to be are Actors and stuff.
Cause they can make Illusions like Special effects, Vanishing Acts and etc.
But this one here is a True Performer, And the Minstrel isn't a Caster Class if you read everything.
It is actually a Fighter, they use Art Skills to weaken their foes while fighting and the range of thier weapon is Adjacent still they can go to the Frontlines with the range and thier Armor Rate is actually 70^^.
But yes some are Casters, Casters are the supportive ones if you go for full support.

I Added Quotes for the Skills, The Quote shall be hear whenever you use an Art Skill according do the Quote.
And then a short music shall be played.
Like in RO but with the Quotes.

I kinda think you got inspired by Bard/Dancer and Minstrel/Gypsy from Ragnarok Online ;p They also use plays, songs, strong buffs and debuffs and use melee instruments.

I would really like to play such class... Too bad that, as with Mesmer, a lot of skills from Minstrel would be used by non-primary Minstrels in farming, resulting in a lot of nerfs...
